Description
The collection of prose by Oľga Feldeková is a selection of texts she has published in the past, whether in books or magazines, that are unknown to today's readers. It follows the books that have already been published by IKAR: While I Am Happy (2013) and Minute Novels (2018). In addition to texts inspired by childhood in Orava, the reader will find a recollection of August 1968, the eighties, and also the lesser-known "Prague period" in the nineties. Although the author is a popular television humorist, the humor in her texts is full of nostalgia. And although she spent her childhood and part of her adult life under communism, she has maintained a childlike free view of the world. Feldeková draws inspiration from her native Orava, just as the painter Mária Medvecká did throughout her life. The connection between her texts and Medvecká's drawings is surprisingly natural. The reader and the connoisseur of the painter's work may appreciate a small surprise – a portrait of Oľga Feldeková as a child.
