Description
This Czech-language humorous novel follows Jakub, a doctor, gourmet and pleasure-seeker who is also terribly unlucky. His relatively calm, ordinary life is disrupted by dozens of minor disasters that lead to a series of comic situations. Despite his clumsiness and bad luck, the protagonist deals with every difficulty in his own humorous way, whether facing involuntary attempts to lose weight, a trip to a spa, an unsuccessful affair during a business trip or unusual experiences with the dog who is part of his family. Despite its light tone, the book also offers room for brief reflection on the meaning of life.
