Bratři Ebenové released their first album, “Malé písně do tmy,” in 1984, followed by five more albums. All the songs are included in this songbook, both in musical notation and in complete versions with lyrics and chords arranged especially for guitarists. Each album also features commentary by its author, the band’s lead singer and popular actor Marek Eben. The sons of distinguished composer Petr Eben (1929–2007) received a classical musical education while also absorbing influences from modern folk, jazz and rock music. Their ability to draw on all these sources and their skill with unusual musical instruments created an entirely unconventional sound unique to the Czech scene.
