Description
Fourteen years ago, eighteen-year-old Emilie Volf was found lying naked on the bank of a local pond, barely alive. She became one of the victims of a serial killer who was terrorising Holice at the time, but miraculously survived. Although the perpetrator was never caught, the town eventually recovered from the terrible tragedy and forgot. Now another girl has disappeared. Emilie, who joined the police after her traumatic experience, believes it is no coincidence and that the same person is responsible. An inexplicable force also keeps drawing her back to the abandoned campsite where she herself was found under mysterious circumstances. As the old crimes slowly come back to life, so do Emilie’s memories of the strange events surrounding her rescue. Although she does not really believe the local rumours that the waters here are cursed, she cannot dismiss them entirely. Deep down, she knows that her survival was not simply the result of a lucky coincidence, but of something far greater. The book is in Czech.
