Description
Detective John Bowie is close to being fired. Recently divorced and showing a mild tendency towards alcoholism, Bowie is struggling to come to terms with what he did—or rather failed to do—during the investigation into the disappearance of Crissy Mellin, a teenager who vanished more than three years ago. Now an episode of the true-crime programme Critical Moment is about to examine the case, and Bowie’s unscrupulous boss orders him to keep his complaints and criticism of the botched investigation to himself. Beth Collins, the programme’s producer, knows how to create a compelling story and when there may be something more behind it. In her view, Crissy’s disappearance was not an isolated incident: a number of teenage girls have gone missing in the area, and all the disappearances occurred on nights when there was a so-called blood moon. In a final attempt to uncover the truth, Beth approaches Bowie for help finding out what happened to Crissy and identifying the real perpetrator, who could strike again in just four days, during the next blood moon.
