Description
This Czech-language historical crime novel follows Tadeáš of Příhraz, who arrives in Sadská at the request of Václav II to investigate the strange deaths of local noblemen. The supposed accidents soon turn into deliberate murders, and their number continues to grow. Against his will, Tadeáš is drawn into a power struggle in which everyone stands against everyone else. Matters take a new turn when Father Benedikt, the local priest and a close friend of the lord of Příhraz, vanishes without a trace from the parish in Nymburk. Tadeáš now faces an enemy unlike any he has encountered before. Together with Vítek, can he solve the many crimes once again, or will he fail and lose the king’s favor?
