Description
The contents of this Czech detective novel are in Czech. Professor Hudeček, an expert in fine art, is found dead in his car near his cottage close to Čerchov. Everything suggests that he deliberately poisoned himself with exhaust fumes, but the forensic doctors prove that Hudeček was murdered. Is his death connected with an assessment of an unsigned painting depicting a man at a card table, which could be an unknown work by the famous painter Jan Zrzavý? Captain Kamila Vernerová is put in charge of the investigation, once again assisted by her partner, surgeon Michal Kameník. There are numerous suspects, and paradoxically, another murder provides the investigators with a clue.
