Description
Another story of the royal prosecutor Oldřich from Chlum takes place this time around Prague. In an inexplicable way, a chest full of gold goes missing on the way from the royal mines in Jílové near Prague. King Přemysl II. Otakar calls upon Oldřich from Chlum to take on the investigation, as it is clear that someone from the leading nobility of the kingdom must be behind it. Squire Ota from Zástřizlí begins to search in disguise as a miner in the gold-bearing region. In the process, he encounters an inexplicable mystery connected to an ancient murder. Because he does not believe the tales of gnomes, he begins to search directly in the underground tunnels. Meanwhile, the commander of the royal prosecutor's retinue, Diviš, is on the trail of a gang of robbers who are ambushing merchants. In the end, Oldřich from Chlum finds threads that slowly connect until a surprising revelation occurs.
