Description

On the Advent of the terrible year 1282, Odo Astore, burgrave of Střílky, wants nothing more than to spend a peaceful Christmas with his wife and a cup of wine in his hand. But wolves have come to the Hříběcí Mountains. A few days before the solstice, the rough nobleman Wolfin goes hunting in the forest and kills seven wolves. That same night, however, two children disappear from his manor. Were they devoured by wolves, or did Wolfin kill them in a fit of madness? Because of his strength and quick temper, people are beginning to whisper that he is a werewolf. Then, near the cemetery, a woman’s skeleton is discovered buried with her heart pierced by an oak stake. Odo Astore sets out to investigate the old murder, the disappearance of Wolfin’s children and the circumstances surrounding further strange deaths. Snow keeps falling, the dead keep multiplying, and the prospect of a peaceful Christmas is nowhere in sight. Can the Wallachian burgrave solve the mysteries and restore peace to the Hříběcí Mountains?
