Description
In Broumov in 1866, ravaged by Prussian soldiers, border inspector Eduard Plischek arrives. Uncertainty reigns at the borders, and smugglers take full advantage of it. When the body of a customs supervisor is found dead in a limestone mine, it falls to Plischek to uncover who the young, handsome man in uniform was obstructing so much that he had to be permanently removed. But was he really meant to be the victim? Moreover, it seems that someone from the customs office is colluding with the local smugglers, and even the inspector Fabian has his carefully guarded secrets. Several local green-eyed beauties could also be the mysterious water nymph from the Liščí stream, whom people have seen disappearing into the water with a bundle of brushwood. It is evident that the experienced investigator faces more than just a complicated case.
