Description
The Luxembourg epic Prince Charles (1334 – 1348) The second part of the novel fresco begins with the arrival of Prince Charles in Bohemia and ends two years after the death of his father John of Luxembourg at Kresčak, when Charles takes over the rule both at home and in the Empire. The entire 14th century is one of the most famous periods in our history, when Prague was the center of the Roman Empire, but also aspired to become the "second Rome" of Christianity. Complex intrigues and struggles for power both at home and abroad intertwine with the efforts of the South Bohemian nobility, represented by the Lords of Landštejn, to strengthen the position of Bohemia within the lands of the Crown of Bohemia and to protect the noble privileges. The epic alternates power intrigues and war scenes with the everyday concerns of the novel's heroes, all depicted in a colorful image of life in the late Middle Ages.
