Description
The fifth part begins with a key turning point in the struggle between Catholics, who are trying to return to the old order, and the Hussites, led by the young Jiří of Poděbrady, who occupies Prague. The time of peace ends, and a civil war ignites. Young Ladislav Pohrobek comes of age and takes the Czech royal throne. However, he soon dies, and after a complicated diplomatic struggle, Jiří of Poděbrady becomes the new King of Bohemia. A new hostile coalition is forming against the Czechs. In this environment, members of the first generations of the Prokop family gradually leave the earthly world, and their children take their place. The narrative takes us once again to Prague, Tábor, and Písek, to Plzeň and other cities, as well as to the Rosenberg and Poděbrady estates and also to Upper Hungary.
