Description
The younger son of Emperor Ferdinand III, Leopold, is preparing for a clerical career, "taught" by his uncle Leopold Wilhelm, who was a bishop and grandmaster of the Order of the Teutonic Knights. However, in 1654, his older brother Ferdinand IV suddenly dies, opening the path to the throne for Leopold. Speculations arise about his brother's murder, with suspicions falling on Leopold's confessor, the feared Jesuit Raúl, who hails from Spain. Ferdinand secured his son's succession in Vienna, Hungary, and Bohemia, but he was unable to ensure that Leopold obtained the imperial title. After long negotiations and various twists, where Raúl again plays an indispensable role, Leopold becomes emperor in 1658. But will the imperial eagle bring him success and happiness...?
