Jan Žižka enters our historical consciousness only at the beginning of the Hussite wars. But what was he doing before that? Where did he gather his warrior experience? In 1410, one of the largest battles of the Middle Ages took place – the Battle of Grunwald. Historians are unsure of the participation of the Hussite commander, but they assert that he was certainly in Poland at that time, which is supported by written evidence. However, it is not certain that he actually fought in it. There are written reports that he not only participated in the fighting but also significantly intervened in it. Although this is fiction, each chapter is supplemented with factual notes from which the author drew.
