Description

Milek is a ten-year-old boy from Zarazice who loves trains and everything related to them. Despite his parents' prohibition, the boy cannot resist the new train set that his friend Ríša received. So, right after he drops off his school bag at home, he runs to Ríša's place. But Ríša is Jewish, his parents own a general store, and it's the year 1940. The boys are playing together in the apartment above the store when they hear Ríša's mother screaming for them to hide. They don't make it in time, and Milek finds himself in the hands of the Gestapo and on a transport to a labor camp in Linz... This story, penned by the granddaughter of the main protagonist, is based on true events.
