Description
In 1942, a tragic event took place in Příbram. Following an denunciation, the director of the grammar school, Dr. Josef Lukeš, student Antonín Stočes and his father Vojtěch Stočes were arrested for petty reasons and executed shortly afterwards. Just after the war, the event became the subject of a story by Jan Drda, who portrayed it in literary form as The Higher Principle. The story later inspired the famous film of the same name, made in 1960. This represents one line in the post-war treatment of the story. The other was the search for the informer or informers. From the mid-1960s, the investigation was conducted by the State Security service. Was the convicted Miroslav Červenka really the only person responsible for the deaths of three people he knew well? Or was he merely a limited and naive young man under the fatal influence of an older fellow student who had joined the Germans during the occupation?
