The club saga of Bohemka is and will remain unparalleled in its scope and depth in Czech football literature. The extensive first two volumes of the chronicle of the Vršovice club Bohemians Prague 1905 were crafted by Miloslav Jenšík, a respected sports historian and established author of non-fiction literature, holder of an ever-growing array of prestigious awards.
In the first volume – published in 2019 and awarded the International Egon Ervin Kisch Prize – the author takes readers through the history of the green-and-white club from its founding in 1905 until 1973, when the Klokani returned to the top domestic league after a three-year exile in the second division and stepped into the club's most successful era to date.
The glorious times of matches in European cups and the acquisition of the Czechoslovak league championship title from the 1982/1983 season are described in Jenšík's second book – published in 2022. It covers the critical years when the traditional club was on the brink of existence, as well as its rebirth thanks to the help of loyal fans who would not let their club fall.
