Description
In contributions from eight authors from three Central European countries, various perspectives narrate the bureaucratization and deformation of scientific research and universities since the 1990s. Attention is focused on the pathological transformations triggered by the attempt to apply neoliberal dogmas in this area, and how, in the name of limiting state intervention in science and education, the development of clientelism and corruption was supported, how measures intended to pluralize options and promote the initiative of individual scientists and research collectives transformed into means of oligarchization, etc. The book optimistically considers the period of harsh neoliberal governance to be over and contemplates the prospects for the coming era.
