Description
The publication is the first book about curling published in the Czech Republic. It intertwines the biographical line of player, official, and coach Karel Kubeška with a factual description of the sport, which, although it has achieved Olympic status, is not very well known or popular in the Czech Republic. Curling is presented as a sport that encompasses all life attributes such as passion, love, enthusiasm, and dedication, but also envy, mediocrity, jealousy, and sadness. Modest descriptions of the various stages of curling's development in our country alternate with emotionally charged micro-stories of sporting moments experienced on the ice, at the work desk, or on the coaching bench. It allows the reader to glimpse behind the scenes of an unusual sporting activity and proves that everything we do and dedicate ourselves to has similar endings, processes, and beginnings. The book includes an appendix with the rules of curling.
