Description
A wealthy Danish owner of several large pig farms has been missing for three weeks when someone rings journalist Michael Moll’s doorbell late one evening. On the doormat, Moll finds an envelope containing a photograph of the missing businessman, an invitation to come to a specified place that night, and an address. He goes there, and events quickly gather pace. Russian assassins may be involved, but many clues also point to radical animal-rights activists. The case soon becomes personal for Moll when it affects his nineteen-year-old daughter. As clashes erupt across the country between activists demanding better conditions for farmed pigs and farmers defending their holdings, the Danish intelligence service becomes involved, along with its agent Christiane Mielckeová. She soon discovers that Moll is more deeply entangled in the affair than he is willing to admit. Both of them realise that they must rely on each other if they are to solve the case. Six dramatic days culminate in a terrifying game of life and death.
