Description
Former detective chief inspector Jack Logan and his colleagues and friends are left with physical and emotional scars after their last case, while Jack is weighed down by guilt. He retreats into voluntary exile on a sparsely populated island, hoping that fresh air and silence will help him find peace. There is perhaps too much fresh air and silence for a retired detective, however, and when his former colleagues ask him to lead a murder investigation team once again, he seriously considers the offer. When the bodies of a mother and her young daughter are discovered, he has no choice but to get back in the saddle and stop a brutal killer before he strikes again. The world has moved on during his absence, though, and fitting back into it will require more effort than Logan originally imagined. Will he be willing to make that effort, or was early retirement not so bad after all?
