Dramatist Holly Sherwin has spent years barely scraping by, but when she receives a grant to develop her play The Witches of Edmonton, she finally comes close to her big breakthrough. She only needs time and space to turn her vision into reality. During a weekend trip north, she happens upon the Hill house, a majestic though neglected Gothic mansion almost hidden on the edge of a remote village, and is immediately captivated by it. Huge, old and deeply frightening, it is perfect for developing and rehearsing her play. Despite her initial reluctance, Holly’s friend Nisa agrees to join her, and they rent the mansion for two weeks. Before long, it is filled with a group of actors haunted by their own skeletons from the past. Holly and her friends soon find themselves at odds not only with one another but also with the house itself.
