Sto květů – Kawamura Genki (2026)

Izumi Kasai and his mother, Yuriko, have an unwritten agreement: even if they do not see each other for twelve months, they will celebrate the last night of the year together. This has been their tradition for years, with only one exception that is never discussed, and Izumi is once again preparing to visit his mother’s house. But something is different. Yuriko is behaving strangely, and Izumi gradually realizes that she is fighting an invisible enemy against which she has no chance. He must guide her safely through a world that no longer makes sense to her while protecting their shared memories. The task is difficult, not only because he is dealing with a complicated work situation and the imminent birth of his first child, but also because of a painful question mark in his relationship with his mother: a blind spot in his own past. This moving story about a son and a mother with Alzheimer’s disease realistically portrays the sorrow of slowly losing someone beloved, while offering a distinctive view of how memory and recollections shape our personalities and lives.
