Description
Whatever my friends say about my three-year dry spell, I am not looking for a man. I do not want drama or sex. I already have enough to deal with, including writer’s block and a daughter who refuses to grow up. What I need now is a community, but the universe seems to have other ideas. Either there is a serious shortage of single women in Chathamupu, Massachusetts, or I have become a powerful magnet for men. At least I have found a funny, kind companion in fishmonger Declan Miller, a partner for adventures who is also good at brainstorming and knows how to get my creative juices flowing. I am his “scribbler,” and he is my “dimple.” An ordinary, tousled, muscular man with a deep voice and a military past, he is rekindling a long-neglected fire in me without even trying. The divorced single father insists that his life is too complicated and that he is too old for relationship games. He is not interested, just like me. So why can’t I stop thinking about him, preferably naked? Perhaps because I am just as confused about everything. At least he inspires me to write. If only real life were more like my novels, I would have a better idea how this will turn out.
