Description
In 1913, Dr Watson visits Sherlock Holmes at his cottage near Eastbourne, where Holmes has retired to rest. Then tragedy strikes: the body of a young man named Patrick Mallinson is found beneath the Beachy Head cliffs. The dead man’s wealthy merchant father asks Holmes to prove that his son committed suicide after an unsuccessful affair with an older woman. However, the woman insists that something more lies behind Patrick’s death. She saw mysterious symbols drawn on his body and fears that he was under the influence of a sinister cult. When someone begins trying to kill Watson, she may be right. With the threat of war hanging over England, who knows what sinister forces are at work.
