Kočičí kavárna – Sólyom Anna (2025)

Since the moment she broke up with her partner and lost her job, Nagore's life has been one big disaster. She has only a few coins left in her wallet, not enough to cover her rent. At that moment, however, an old friend offers her an unusual job as a waitress at Neko Café in Barcelona, a charming little café where seven cats are waiting for their new owners among the customers.

Since Nagore has had a panic fear of these creatures since childhood, her initial rejection is overcome by desperation, forcing her to accept the job against her will. What initially crashes into her uncertain reality like a hurricane turns out to be a life-changing experience as the days go by. Each of the seven masters of Neko (Japanese for 'cat') provides her with a key to the art of living, such as calmness, focus, flexibility, or purity of heart, and other values that she begins to apply in her daily life until fate prepares another unexpected twist for her.

Anna Sólyom has written a charming novel that leads readers to realize that it is always possible to find one's place in life. Its plot takes place in one of the cat cafés that have been increasingly popular in larger cities lately.
