Description
In the summer of 1988, young Richard Chizmar finds himself in the middle of a nightmare when a serial killer known in the media as the Boogeyman disrupts the peaceful life of his hometown. More than thirty years later, Chizmar is a successful writer, husband and father of two sons. He also enjoys a certain fame because the Boogeyman, held in a maximum-security prison, is willing to speak only with him, his fellow townsman and contemporary. During their conversations, Chizmar tries to learn about further unconfessed and unidentified victims and help their relatives bring a tragic chapter of their lives to a close. But when a masked figure leaves a terrifying calling card at Chizmar’s home, the writer realizes that dancing with the devil comes at a price. A new killer is clearly on the scene, along with an admirer of the Boogeyman and someone connected to the serial killer.
