The Journey to France (1887, Le chemin de France) is a lesser-known historical novel by the French writer Jules Verne from his series Extraordinary Voyages (Les Voyages extraordinaires).
The novel is set during the time of the French Revolution, specifically during the war between France and Germany. The narrator is Natalis Delpierre, a captain in the French army, who describes the course of his visit to Prussia in the summer of 1792. Delpierre traveled to Prussia to visit his sister Irma, who was working for Madam Keller and her son Jean Keller. However, during Delpierre's visit, following the overthrow of French King Louis XVI and the declaration of the republic, war breaks out between the two countries.
