Lucie loves words and she loves people. She works as a lecturer, but besides that, she writes and publishes novels.

One day, however, a family tragedy completely shatters her life, so she leaves everything behind, departs from Paris, and heads to her grandparents' old house in Saint-Malo, where she wants to recover from the event. Gradually, she transforms the large estate into a sort of community center: it turns out that the most effective form of therapy is to engage with the problems of her neighbors.

In the house, we encounter a former librarian, a widower and grump named Léonard, Lucie's protective and enthusiastic mother Annick, a mentally unstable bookseller named Vivianne, and a girl named Camille, who is estranged from her family.

What connects them all? A love for books! They start brainstorming dozens of projects, beginning with the creation of a local library, through which they want to share their passion for literature with the residents of Saint-Malo.

Will these people, whom life has thrown many obstacles, ultimately find peace? And can Lucie, by caring for her quirky housemates, overcome her own demons?
