Description
The world as we know it has vanished after blackouts, water wars, and ecological disasters. The weather can change from icy to scorching in a matter of hours, water and air are contaminated with toxic substances, animals and nature have nearly ceased to exist, and only a few people have survived. In this bleak present, a group of women lives enclosed in the House of the Holy Brotherhood, a religious sect with a strict hierarchy ruled with an iron fist by a sadistic Mother Superior. And one of the 'unworthy,' as the ordinary members of the sect are called, longs for this. She tells a story, secretly written night after night, so that one day someone will learn what goes on behind these walls: torture, sacrifices, and terrifying rituals in the name of enlightenment. She recalls what happened before she came to the House and also records what unfolds after Lucía, an extraordinary girl with extraordinary abilities, joins the sect.
