Description
In the middle of the forest stands a house called Lichen Hall, a place shrouded in ancient legends about ghosts, witches, and a child who was not quite a child.
In 1965, Pearl Gorham arrives at Lichen Hall, sent here like many other young women to give birth. Soon, she begins to suspect that the estate's owners are hiding something.
She meets a mysterious woman and her little son, who live on the estate's grounds, and together they begin to uncover the secrets of this place.
The truth slowly comes to light, but with it, darkness creeps in, and Pearl must ultimately reassess everything she knows and believes – and risk what is most dear to her.
