Aging divorced writer Knut has never been able to follow up on the grand success of the novel he wrote twenty years ago. In his latest literary attempt, he tried to take into account the critical comments from reviewers that he writes exclusively about members of the privileged white middle class, but his editor rejected the text as unusable, and the book was never published. Now Knut receives an invitation to Norway's largest literary festival in Lillehammer, where he is to participate in a panel discussion titled 'Infidelity in Life and Literature.' Although he is merely a stand-in for someone who canceled at the last minute, so be it. He takes his only friend, the gay Frank, with him, and he intends to make the most of his stay in Lillehammer. After all, it's a chance for him to step back into the spotlight. And even though the debate takes a somewhat chaotic turn, Knut gains an opportunity to start anew. Nina Lykke takes a critical look at an environment where everything is allowed - as long as one follows the rules. After all, we are not here just for fun.
