On the day Abram and his mother arrived at the death camp in Auschwitz, they both knew that nothing awaited them. During their last moments together, his mother urged her nineteen-year-old son: 'Abram, do everything in your power to survive, and tell people what happened here.' She was then taken to the gas chamber, where she was murdered. By this point, Abram had already endured and survived a lot, but thanks to a strong hope, of which at times only a spark remained, he survived. ***** After liberation, Abram found himself in Belgium, where he met the love of his life – another survivor from Auschwitz named Cesia. The young couple set off for Australia, where the spark of their hope shone like the sun and illuminated everything they touched, as well as everyone around them. ***** Abram never forgot his mother's last words. He carried them within him without resentment and always with perspective. To honor the memory of all the victims, Abram and Cesia dedicated their seventy-five years of marriage to raising awareness about the Holocaust and savoring life to the fullest.
