In England at the end of the 19th century, strict social conventions still prevail. The headstrong and brave Elizabeth is the daughter of a prominent botanist and collector of valuable plants. She too loves flowers and is a great illustrator. Unfortunately, she is a woman, and thus cannot fulfill her desires for exploring foreign lands and plants. All of this changes when her father falls seriously ill and on his deathbed entrusts his daughter with a risky and dangerous task.
