Description
The famous anti-utopian play by Karel Čapek from 1920, in which the word robot was first introduced, belongs to the sci-fi genre. The central theme is the destruction of humanity through overly advanced technology that has gotten out of control. To rid themselves of the need to work, people create artificial servants – robots, who then rebel and exterminate humanity. In the end, however, a pair of these artificial beings, originally incapable of feelings, discover love between themselves and, with the blessing of the old inventor, become the new Adam and Eve.
