The Girl from the Land Outside is a melancholic fantasy comic full of rich imagination and dark elements. It stands out from contemporary Japanese comic production both in its graphic execution and the sensitive story that soon captivates the reader. The childlike curiosity of the main character reveals a world full of strange beings and people, whose troubled fates and fear of the curse will test how far the touching friendship between Shiva and her protector reaches.
