Description

The 1930s. A mysterious illness spreads across Scotland. The residents of Loch Down estate, the noble and ancient family of the Inverkillens, are much more troubled by dwindling supplies of toilet paper and the question of who will take care of the children when the nanny dared to leave this world at such an inconvenient time. Lord Inverkillen, the earl and the most prominent member of the family, is found dead under strange circumstances. The inspector labels the incident an accident, but Mrs. MacBain, the head housekeeper, is not convinced. Since no one is allowed to leave the house due to the illness, and no outsiders may enter, the only suspects are the residents of the house, whether from the family or the staff. Given that the earl's family is too busy with what can only be described as doing nothing, they decide to start their own investigation. Of course, only in their spare time. In doing so, they uncover a whole series of long-hidden secrets, lies, and deceptions that will forever change life at the estate.
