Description
The allegorical play From the Life of Insects has been a classic of Czech theater stages for almost a hundred years. This timeless comedic drama by the Čapek brothers in three acts describes human traits (mostly negative), demonstrated through characters from the insect class. All the scenes of the play are connected by a certain Wanderer, a human protagonist who at the beginning is upset that people are insulted by the address 'man,' even though they are nothing else. He then decides to treat them as insects, which sets the perspective for the rest of the performance. The script from 1922 still regularly appears on lists of required and graduation reading and should not be missing from the library of any Czech reader.
