Description
During an excursion in the tidal zone near the shore, one of teacher Lasse Espersen's students discovers a dead body. Moments later, fog envelops the area, and a faceless figure emerges and attacks Lasse. When the teacher regains consciousness, his student has disappeared. He is not the first child to go missing in Melum, a provincial town on the west coast of Jutland: a six-year-old girl vanished a year earlier and has still not been found. The investigation is taken up by young Danish detective Lykke Teit and experienced German police officer Rudi Lehmann, since the body was found directly on the border. They can only hope to solve the murder together and find the missing boy before it is too late. Meanwhile, two more murders take place, and only then do the investigators begin to understand where the trail leads. This is the first book in the Teit and Lehmann series.
