Description
Even two years after the war, there is no peace in Dresden. The city, still full of rubble from the massive bombing in February 1945, belongs to the Soviet occupation zone, and life there is like a bad dream. In the freezing winter of 1947, the lives of ordinary people are literally a struggle for survival. They are plagued by a shortage of housing, hunger, and disease. Unfortunately, even the smallest children are not spared from suffering. Police Commissioner Max Heller is called to the crime scene in the Neustadt district by the newly established people's police. However, before he can even begin his investigation, the murdered officer of the Red Army is taken away by Russian military forces. All that remains is a huge puddle of frozen blood and an abandoned backpack, which hides a horrifying secret: a severed male head. However, Max does not give up, and during a challenging investigation, which is constantly being sabotaged by someone, he unravels the threads of a complex case that reaches the highest Russian military circles...
