Společenství – Little Bentley (2022)

Barry and Maureen were looking for a house that would meet their requirements for modern and safe living. They longed for peace, security, and a life in harmony with nature. They found their dream property in the rural Utah, in the protected residential complex Bonita Vista, just a stone's throw from the town of Corban. Maureen can work from home as an accountant, while Barry is a horror writer. Everything seems ideal. They do have to become members of the homeowners' association, but that's common everywhere. Then, while clearing out the belongings of the former owners, they find a strange message in the shed, a representative from the association approaches them with a peculiar complaint during a garage sale of unnecessary junk, and they discover an absurd surprise in the mailbox at their house. They cautiously start to look around, examining the neighbors and the environment. The question arises in their minds whether they have moved too far away from the conveniences of civilization they were used to back in California, and the joy of their fulfilled dream begins to show its first cracks... Bentley Little's horror novel does not take place in the gothic gloom of ancient country estates.
