Muži v offsidu – Poláček Karel (2021)

One of Karel Poláček's most successful books, the author of long-standing classics like 'Bylo nás pět' or 'Hostinec U kulatého stolu.' Mr. Načeradec, the owner of a ready-to-wear shop, starts going to football because his doctor recommended some sport. One day, during a match, he gets into a conflict with a certain young unemployed man, which leads to a visit to the police station. Thus, a strange, mismatched friendship is formed, from which a beloved comedic story has emerged for generations. This nearly hundred-year-old classic, specifically from 1922, was complemented after nine years by the equally successful film of the same name directed by Svatopluk Innemann.
