Description
In this Czech-language memoir, Calum Nicholas recounts his professional journey from his unique vantage point in the Formula 1 pit lane. A former British mechanic, he has played a significant role in Red Bull Racing’s return to winning ways since joining the team in 2015. During that time, Max Verstappen has won four World Championship titles, while the team also claimed the Constructors’ Championship in 2022 and 2023. Nicholas traces his career from his apprentice years in a modest workshop in north London to the pinnacle of motorsport. Drawing on extensive experience at the centre of the action and his personal perspective on diversity and inclusion in Formula 1, he presents memoirs filled with high-adrenaline stories and behind-the-scenes details. He reveals both the bright and darker sides of the world’s most watched circus, from the opportunity to travel and assemble the fastest racing cars to demanding work under immense pressure and the disappointment when a race weekend fails to meet expectations.
