Description
Sixteen-year-old Tessa Gray embarks on a long transatlantic voyage to find her brother in Victorian England. In a London filled with vampires, warlocks, and other supernatural beings, she faces literal horrors. She finds refuge with the Shadowhunters, who promise to help her if she provides them with her mysterious abilities in return. Tessa is particularly enchanted by two best friends: Jem, whose handsome face hides a dark secret, and blue-eyed Will, who pushes everyone away with sharp comments and unpredictable moods.
