Description
In this Czech-language novel, child psychologist Aaron Umber and his fourteen-year-old son Emmet travel halfway around the world to meet a woman who is not expecting them. Aaron stands at a crossroads in his life, haunted by memories of the past and fears about the future. The evil inflicted on him when he was Emmet’s age made him the man he is today, but it still threatens to deepen the chasm that has opened between him and his only child. The time spent ten thousand metres above the ground gives Aaron distance and an opportunity to reflect and take stock. During the long journey, he has a unique chance to grow close to his adolescent son again. The trip may bring them together, or drive them further apart.
