And that's when Cassidy meets Lara, a girl who has the same gift as she does, and discovers that she still has much to learn about the Veil - and herself. Later, Cass and her parents (and of course her best friend, the ghost Jacob) head to Paris. It would be nice to eat one croissant after another and enjoy the view from the Eiffel Tower if a terrifying danger didn't lurk in the underground catacombs. Even though Cass feels like she has ghost hunting down pretty well, New Orleans surprises her with its haunted spots on full display. In a city full of old magic, ghostly attractions, mysterious dungeons, and untamed music, Cass finds herself plunged into terrifying stories literally at every turn. And behind it all lurks...
