In 1990, a new era begins in the history of our state, the old socialist structures are collapsing, democracy is taking hold with all its positive and negative impacts on ordinary people, including police officers. The VB – Public Security – has transformed into a police force, but the question of who will make it up remains unresolved. Will all members suddenly become police officers overnight? Are the officials and politically active members facing a return to civilian life? Will experienced renowned detectives, like the communist Eduard Burger, pay the price for the new changes, or will the new regime show them mercy? The dilemma will be resolved by the fateful decision of the newly elected president. He will make an unconsidered, shortsighted act – he will declare a broad amnesty. Suddenly, the night streets are full of deviants, violent criminals, and murderers, giving modern detectives a chance to clean up and prove their necessity to society. Everything is changing; the new democratic era brings new murders that surpass the old, socialist ones in their brutality and bestiality. Everything is interconnected, the shadow of the past looms not only over the detectives but also over the murderers. No one knows yet the answer to the question of who is seeing brighter days ahead; only the future will reveal everything...
