Description

Krauz's talent for getting entangled in cases with a political power subtext is well known. Fortunately, not all murders investigated by the homicide squad are of the same ilk. Much more often, the cases have an "ordinary" criminal undertone, just like in the very latest one. At the beginning of the wild nineties, the most notorious serial killer Ondrej enters the scene, leaving bloody traces in three countries. No one believes Krauz that this will all continue, that they are only at the beginning of a series of brutal rapes and murders. He struggles in vain to convince his superiors to focus solely on the "sock killer" - they don't believe him, fearing panic. Against Krauz's logic stands the killer's calculating tactic: between individual attacks, he takes inexplicably long breaks, the significance of which (perhaps a message) the detectives cannot decipher. It is during one of these breaks that a bizarre murder occurred, testing their patience, perception, and deductive skills. Krauz still has no idea whether his sock killer has unexpectedly reappeared or if someone new is stepping out of the shadows. Are they still battling Ondrej, or is someone else tripping them up?
