Description
This Czech-language concertina board book contains a playful rhyming bedtime story with charming illustrations by Emilia Dziubak. A little magpie toddles through the forest, seeing and hearing everything and poking her curious head everywhere. She keeps waking the other animals, asking the badger and the beaver whether they are asleep, until she has explored the whole forest and her own eyes begin to close with tiredness. The small, appealing board book with rounded corners gently guides children towards sleep. Looking at the sleepy or sleeping animals may first make parents’ eyes grow heavy, but repeated readings of the soothing bedtime poem are sure to lull children to sleep as well. However, if you also take the original A Year in the Forest and search for all the sleeping animals again during the day, at night and in different seasons, you may have several more hours of entertainment and no sleep at all.
