Description
How will detective Adam Fawley deal with the fact that years ago he put an innocent person behind bars? When Nick Vincent, producer of the true-crime programme Infamous, hears about new information in the closely watched 2016 Oxford murder case of eight-year-old Daisy Mason, he seizes the opportunity and sends a researcher to investigate everything. Two months later, a woman’s body is found in a shallow grave in the woods. Forensic evidence links it to the same case involving the murdered girl. Detective Chief Inspector Adam Fawley, the lead investigator in the original case, is also assigned to the current investigation. He remembers the earlier case very well, because he was the one who arrested the girl’s mother and charged her with murder, a murder he now knows she did not commit. The investigation raises more questions than answers. What connects the two crimes? Where has Daisy, supposedly murdered, been hiding all these years? And how did she manage to disappear back then? For Adam Fawley, the whole case is deeply personal.
